Local Dog Training Makes the Movies
Local Dog Training puts 4 local dogs in International Movie
I was hired to bring 3 trained dogs to a movie set due to my local dog training abilities. Each dog needed to be calm and attentive and who could follow commands. The movie was being shot in an abandoned prison in Coalinga.
The production company recommended by Carollyn DeVore’s talent agency (Devore Talent) provided many local actors with paying roles in the film. This Japanese film crew hired me as the “Dog Wrangler” to provide 3 medium-sized dogs for the actors to work with. I took my dog Jimmy as the 4th and alternate dog. All 4 dogs worked in the movie.
I Take local Dog Training Very Seriously
I would like to thank the dog owners who trusted my local dog training abilities with their little furry angels on this movie project. Your trust is very important to me, and I appreciate being able to give your dogs a higher level of social and professional training.
These dogs were asked to listen and perform while under the great pressure and changing timeframes. The film set had lots of strangers buzzing in and around the dogs while I worked with them on the movie set. I honestly must say that they all were perfect pooches!
Meet My Prison Movie Dogs
First off, I want to say to Kathleen Hendron, that her dog “Rocco”, truly met all of my expectations for him. Initially, Kathleen hired me to help her with her runaway dog Rocco.
Rocco liked to squeeze past her at the front door or get out through an older gate. When he did go, he would run like the wind and never look back. His owner spent many hours driving around her neighborhood and calling for him.
She Got to Rocco Just Before He Was Killed by a Train
Kathleen heard the sound of a barking that led her to discover Rocco tied to the train tracks. She literally saved his life within minutes before the train came along!
I included Rocco because he had already gone through my Dog Day Immersion program. He was calm, respectful and trusted enough for me to guide him along on this special dog training day.
To Kathleen Hendron,
Over the years, you have trusted me with several of your foster Babies, including Rocco. I want to acknowledge that your trust in me is MY great reward. Rocco is truly A Rock Star!
To Sue Janecek (Sue Montgomery)
This local dog training day included “The Poodle” (Sully) who was like a Zen Master on the set. He presented an all day example of his calm and collected nature, for the other dogs to emulate.
Sully kept the surrounding energy from affecting his goal of trusting that my energy to help him listen. Sue, Sully came from several failed adoptions and foster homers until you found and adopted him.
This is the face of your former terrified and distraught little rescue dog that we picked up on that day in Visalia. He has truly come a very long way in his head and heart. I was proud to have “The Poodle” on my special dog training A team.
To Brooke Rummonds and her Little Rising Star, Winnie.
Your dog was outside my radar until you brought her to meet me that day outside of Starbucks. Winnie ended up capturing more hearts and minds in that 12 hour special dog training day than she will know.
She is the surprising charmer. After learning her routine and her place in the pack, she proved her loving nature and her ability to trust. It was fun to see her work alongside the three other doggies for a technical and involved long day of shooting.
Winnie proved to me that her brilliant but scattered mind, will always shine. Dogs mirror the energy in the home. Winnie quickly understood and accepted her tasks and the boundaries set before her. She is now a Way of a Dog.
As for My Dog Jimmy,
His worries and separation anxiety still racked his frightened psyche on that day. Jimmy had many good reasons for being that way, because he was abandoned by his own family at a car wash outside of town.
I think Jimmy realized that I wouldn’t ask anything of him that he couldn’t do during our special dog training day. That is the reason why I teach what I know about dogs. My special dog training abilities help instill a deeper connection to our animals.
I guess that’s why I love working with dogs! Jimmy quickly integrated into the group, even though he maybe wasn’t so enthusiastic about doing it. He is my boy, and from his personally unfortunate and feral past, Jimmy has also come a very long way! On big growth days like this was, I tell Jimmy that “Jimmy had a good day today”.
Way to go Chicken Man! You can find Jimmy and his true life story here. My next children’s book will be Jimmy’s true story. It is titled… Jimmy’s Tree. You can purchase my current book out now that’s titled, Shea’s Lounge, the story of a runaway dog that found her forever home. You can find a copy of Shea’s Lounge here on eBay.
